Grades K-5

Nature crafts, outdoor exploration, games and more!

Your child’s natural curiosity leads to exploration and a deeper love of learning about the natural world. We will explore the school forest, the swamp and the hillside at the Wickanninish Community School. We will learn about seasonal changes, local plants and animals and practice our wilderness skills.

Program Considerations

Tofino Nature Kids is a nature immersion program. We spend almost all of our time together outside. Please consider if your child will be comfortable in an outdoor learning environment. Your family must be committed to ensuring your child is suitably dressed and fully prepared for the weather every day. We do have a small covered area for especially soggy or windy times.

Our program only has invisible walls, therefore, our programs are not suitable for children who are prone to uninhibited “wandering”.

“If a child is to keep his inborn sense of wonder, he needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with them the joy, excitement, and mystery of the world we live in.”

– Rachel Carson
